i dont really see a good way to map all the functions to a controller. playing a kb/mouse on a console is not really the norm..

well if not the exact game at least a similar guild wars title... like what soe did with everquest online adventures, only make this a lot better. id love to play an mmorpg with no subscription fee! but my comp is just too crappy its 2 years old and has a nvidia geforce 2.

i have a computer that is older than that that i manage to play GW on. i just happened to "upgrade" it to a PCI GFX5700LE..

Consoles are good for somethings, but not online games. The only thing that you can compare to the PC in online gaming is the XBox.

Consoles are fun, but Guild Wars wouldn't turn out so well.

The funny thing is that the hardest part of the requirements for old computers is actually the 512mb RAM. From what I have seen and heard, Guild Wars runs on all those computers with "integrated graphics." It's not pretty, but there is very little lag.

Well, it doesn't like the integrated graphics on my laptop. OTOH, it is a five year old laptop.

I am still surprised how light the game is for graphics requirements, considering how beautiful it is.

Putting it on a console system would make it a lot less beautiful. Televisions have cruddy resolution compared to computer monitors. It'd be like playing the game at 720x400 or something like that. Maybe with HDTV it'd be okay... (do any consoles support the increased resolution of HDTV?)

The controllers would still be a problem, though. Not to mention chat...

That's not a problem: most Xbox games support HDTV resolution. Some better, some worse. Burnout 3 looks like it would require some heavy AA but Beyond Good and Evil looks just like a disney cartoon.

Guild Wars as a game would simply not port over well to any of the consoles, except perhaps XBox.
